Why Vote for Me?
- I LOVE OAKMONT. My thirteen years here have been the most rewarding and joyful of my life. I'm passionate about our community and want to do my part to make it a comfortable, safe, congenial bubble in an increasingly challenging world.
- I WANT TO SERVE. My passion for Oakmont leads naturally to a strong desire to give back to the community that has given so much to me, my wife and my friends. I want to continue the legacy of Oakmont volunteers down through the years who have donated their time and energy to making this community the very best it can be.
- I HAVE THE EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND TEMPERAMENT. I've been fortunate to have served both Oakmont and prior organizations in a variety of leaderships roles. I've run for the OVA board twice and was elected and chosen to be president by my peers both times. During my tenure, Oakmont endured fires, evacuations, COVID and the sale of the golf courses. Our board was tested by trying circumstances and I'm proud of what we achieved. I have studied and understand HOA law. I've served on other Oakmont boards and lived in both owner-maintained and association-maintained Oakmont homes. Skills-wise, I've been told I'm a clear and effective communicator and I work very hard. I'm fiscally moderate, naturally curious, open to new ideas and an experienced servant leader (see my Platform for more information on servant leadership). I'm results-oriented (please see my Accomplishments for details) and, thanks to my spiritual practice, I have a calm demeanor and believe that returning kindness for unkindness is the ultimate leadership trait.
If elected, I promise to work with our residents, the board and our staff to thoughtfully and thoroughly research and then address our issues to preserve all that is good about our home and avoid all that would harm us. In so doing, I will support and promote an environment characterized by kindness and understanding.
